This ia a company that promotes from within. 98% of managers start at hourly positions and then work their way up. This was true for one employee named Steve Ritchie Papa Johns.
Recently, Papa John’s appointed Steve Ritchie as their new CEO, taking effect as of January 1st 2018. Steve has climbed the ladder in the Papa John’s corporation, he has gone from an hourly associate to CEO in just 21 years.
Mr. Ritchie, who is now 43, first joined Papa John’s as a customer service representative in 1996. Later on, in 2006, he became a franchise owner and operator. Steve showed great competence in leading and managing operations, which led him to be promoted to COO in 2014. A year after he became President.
As the new Chief Executive Officer, Steve’s main responsibility is to lead global development and to manage the Papa John’s brand marketing, digital and customer experience operations. Steve Ritchie had to this to say when it was announced that he was promoted to CEO; “I am humble to take this role.”, “By focusing on our team members we will strive to deliver world class experiences for our customers.” Steve believes that at Papa John’s any opportunity is achievable if you work hard and put your best foot forward every day. He says, “I’m sure our future company leaders are delivering pizzas at one of our 5,000 stores around the world right now.”
For the past few weeks, Steve has been traveling throughout the U.S. Visiting stores in Atlanta, LA, Dallas, Chicago and Detroit to meet and talk to the franchise owners and team members. He believes that People Are Always Priority (P.A.P.A) and he wanted to hear for himself how the company can improve.
