He was born in the city of Marilia. The city coincidentally happens to also be where the first president of the group Mr. Amador Aguiar was born too. Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi holds a degree in philosophy from the University of Sao Paulo. He pursued further studies in Social Psychology in which he attained a degree from Fundacao University. He joined Bradesco in 1969. He climbed through the ranks including serving as the Department Director, Managing Director, Executive Vice president, the President of Bradesco Seguros, and finally the CEO of Brazil’s largest private bank.

The group also runs one of the fastest growing insurance wings in Brazil; Bradesco Insurance. The bank has grown even faster under the stewardship of Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi. Under his charge, Bradesco has hit new accounts registrations of up to 6, 000 per day. In fact, the company is said to have doubled its size in just six years of Mr. Trabuco’s leadership. Trabuco helped the Group to attain an equity return of 29 % from 22%. It is reported that the equity return has never gone below 27% since he climbed to the helm. It is also reported that the performance of Bradesco Seguros improved from 26% to 35% in the final results posted by the group. It is also said that Mr. Trabuco’s performance at Bradesco Seguros influenced his appointment to the helm.
Trabuco’s Rise to the Helm
The selection of the group’s president was a rigorous process that pitted the career banker with several other eligible candidates. Some of the other names that were featured include the then Vice Presidents Jose Luiz Acar and that of Milton Vegas. Trabuco symbolized the culture of Bradesco with over four decades of successful service.
