Fitness and nutrition are in high-demand as of 2018. There are a ton of fitness and fashion brands that are on the market today, and Herbalife Nutrition is getting in on the action. Herbalife Nutrition has an extended resume of success within this business, and it’s looking to extend its greatness throughout the 21st century. This particular brand has been around since the early 1980s, and the company was founded by a guy named Mark Hughes. In 2016, Herbalife’s sales were estimated at $4.4 billion. The company is actually headquartered in Los Angeles, California, and it employs at least 8,000 individuals.
Herbalife is partnering with the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising to develop an activewear line. This activewear line will be sold all around the globe by the company’s independent contractors. Herbalife already sells a number of nutritional products, and this attire would definitely meet the company’s growing demand. This advanced program will be offered to the students of the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, and the program will extend to late spring 2019. This means that the students will get to showcase their individual talents when it comes to designing, but only an estimated 15 students will be chosen to work on the project once the program is complete.
The FIDM students will be divided into teams. The goal is to develop an activewear line that epitomizes health and fitness. Nike has also participated in programs like this on numerous occasions. Having some fresh ideas that come from a certain demographic can potentially create more success down the road. FIDM faculty members and Herbalife associates will judge the designs, which will consist of different colors, themes, and fabrics. The idea is rather brilliant as the chosen students will get to work as a cohesive group.
